The City of Greenwood Village welcomes yourinterest in the Project Manager II - Transportation position. The purpose of this position is to provide traffic engineering expertise and to serve as project manager on capital improvement projects. The Project Manager II conducts a variety of engineering traffic studies; conducts radar speed surveys; analyzes and evaluates traffic accident information; maintains traffic counts; and prioritizes traffic circulation system improvements. This position reviews City street improvement plans and assures proper signage and street striping. The Project Manager II provides engineering support on a variety of traffic engineering projects; researches and evaluates data; reviews plans; prepares designs and specifications; makes technical recommendations to higher level staff. The Project Manager II works in collaboration with other Village departments and jurisdictions on a variety of traffic engineering projects. This position interacts with the general public and responds to citizen requests and questions to address concerns related to traffic operations and capital improvement projects. This position supervises three employees: Traffic Systems Coordinator, Traffic Signal Technician and an Inspector and is responsible for directing and evaluating their tasks.
The knowledge and skills needed to be successful in this position are typically gained through the attainment of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering, environmental engineering, traffic engineering or a related field and three years of civil engineering experience. Prior supervisory experience is preferred. Must possess an appropriate, valid Certificate of Registration as an Engineering Intern. Registration as a Professional Engineer issued by the State of Colorado is desirable. Possession of or the ability to obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Colorado and a satisfactory driving record to obtain coverage by the City's insurance carrier is required.
