The awards will be presented at the Awards Luncheon, Monday, January 26, 2009 at the Denver Marriott South at Park Meadows. CARMA continues its tradition of delivering a great opportunity for training and networking with the annual Winter Workshop. The Winter Workshop is designed to offer topics to help you prepare for winter and keep yourstaff on the cutting edge of methods, materials, and operations. In keeping with their commitment to give back toits members, this workshop is offered FREE to all CARMA members. Nonmembers are welcome and encouragedto attend for the low registration fee of $40. The next APWA Water Resources Committee Luncheon will be 11:45 a.m. on April 23, 2008 at the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District 2480 W. 26th Ave., Suite B-156.
Chris Kroeger and Joe Juergensen from Muller Engineering will be here to talk about emerging ideas and techniques in drop structures in drainage channels. Muller will discuss riffle drops and how they mimic natural stream morphology and will present new techniques in improving aesthetics in drops through incorporating glass reinforced concrete panels, concrete coloring and staining.
